CASE (Campaign Against Silica Extraction) Winter Woodland Walk
(25-Nov-2016)
At the open meeting of the campaign group, CASE, (Campaign Against Silica Extraction), held at the Carpenters Arms on 8 November, 26 residents from the parishes of East Winch, West Bilney, Middleton, Blackborough End and Pentney came together to discuss ways of moving the campaign forwards. A lively meeting demonstrated just how much people care about the local community and some good action plans were put in place. The first is a open-to-all ramble through West Bilney Woods on 11th December where we hope local people and their family and friends will join us for a festive walk starting at 10:30am.
This will start and finish at the Tipi, Conkers, West Bilney and will be about three miles in length taking in the beautiful surroundings of West Bilney Woods. The pace of the walk is down to individuals but there will be seasonal snacks and mulled wine at the end of the walk. Looking to the future, CASE aims to organise more awareness raising activities that will prove both fun, informative and, hopefully, will build a greater sense of local community.
